The annual Arkansas Derby Day at Oaklawn Racing Casino attracted tens of thousands of visitors, eager to witness the horse races and partake in the various attractions.

Chris Ho, Vice President of Marketing at Oaklawn Racing Casino, expressed his excitement, saying, "I'm having the time of my life. This is incredible."

Todd Haenisch described the event as "one of the most exciting days of the year at Oaklawn Racing Casino," noting its significance as a major annual event in Arkansas. "It's just historic. We are continuing to cultivate and grow new race fans. All the younger people are coming out. They're getting a taste of racing," he said.

Attendance figures have been impressive, with last year's numbers reaching about 60,000 and the previous year at 65,000. This year, expectations are even higher, according to Ho.

Visitors from out of state, like David Moore, have made it a tradition to attend. "It's our third year coming down. We love Hot Springs and love the horsepower," Moore said. Cindy Keller added, "It's history in the making. The runner and the winner of the Arkansas Derby will be the horse that will go along to the Kentucky Derby. So it's the road to the Triple Crown."

The event is not just about the races; it also features performances and other activities. "You have to dress up for Derby Day. You got to put on your best," Ho said. Keller emphasized the social aspect, stating, "That's why we're all here today. Is to chill and have a good time."

Although Derby Day has concluded, Oaklawn Racing Casino will continue to host races for the remainder of the season.
