The Carolinas are still battling some of the worst wildfires in the nation; however, there could be some relief on the way.

Is rain forecasted for western North Carolina?

Yes. According to Accuweather, western North Carolina will be cloudy with rain showers and isolated thunderstorms later in the day.

It lists an active air quality alert from the U.S. National Weather Service for the Asheville area.

Rain and thunderstorms are also forecasted for Monday, March 31.
